EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Thomas P. Camacho has over 20 years of professional engineering experience in Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and Micronesia. He worked as an Engineering Map Technician for the Los Angeles County Survey Department from 1981 to 1983. His responsibilities included the plan checking and approval of Parcel and Tract maps in the Los Angeles County District. In 1981 through 1983, Thomas worked with the Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority and acted as a Project Engineer for several housing projects. His responsibilities at GHURA included administration and construction management of 248 Housing Units throughout Guam totaling $9.5 Million in construction costs. Thomas gained valuable experience with State and Federal regulations during his tenure with the County of Los Angeles and GHURA.
Prior to joining DCA, Mr. Camacho served as a Civil/Structural Engineer with GK2, Inc. from September of 1985 through September of 2001 and became President of GK2 in 1995. His duties included overall responsibility for the full office staff that included 2 administrative and 11 technical personnel. Thomas was project manager for both the civil and structural design and construction management of major projects such as Residential and Multi-Family Housing, Commercial/Retail Structures, Hospitals and Medical Facilities, Industrial Buildings including Warehousing, Resort Hotels and Condominiums, Garage Structures, Churches and Religious Facilities, Schools and Educational Facilities, Sports and Athletic Facilities, Wharf, Shore and Marine Facilities, Communication Facilities, Airport Facilities, Retaining Walls, Foundations, Piles, and Bridges. The list of Clients include the Department of Defense U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and the U.S. Army, the various Government of Guam Agencies, GHURA, GIAA, and the Private Commercial and Residential Sector.
Mr. Camacho has gained valuable experience over the 20 years of working as a Structural Engineer and being involved with the design and management of projects. He is familiar with state of the art structural three-dimensional static and dynamic and finite element analysis and design software that includes RISA-3D, ETABS Plus, SAFE, and SAP2000.
